A Very Happy Memorial Day from Completely Yours!
An extra day added to the weekend goes a long way! You may want to spend your weekend relaxing (which Completely Yours completely understands!), but if you're around the NOVA/DC area, check out these events if you're ready to get out!
If you want to participate in National events, you have a chance to on Sunday and Monday. The National Memorial Day concert is on Sunday at p.m., and it's free, which we love of course! Actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise will be there along with other artists and the National Symphony Orchestra. On Monday, there is the National Memorial Day Parade at 2 p.m. Marching Bands and Veterans units from across the U.S. will be in the parade along with floats and balloons. There are also numerous memorials on Monday, including the World War II Memorial, Air Force Memorial, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
From Saturday to Monday, there is a festival in Vienna called Viva!Vienna!, which is perfect if you have children...they will definitely enjoy the magic show! Also, there will be crafts, carnival rides, and a Memorial Day tribute. There will be a lot of food, too...definitely a plus! On Monday, Falls Church will be having a parade and festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This festival is also great for children with its pony rides and arts and crafts. There will be live entertainment and food, as well.
A beautiful event that all of us at Completely Yours wish we could attend is Sunset at Mount Vernon. On Friday through Sunday, you can tour George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens by foot or by wagon-ride. After the tour, there will be wine and dessert with music, dancing, and games. An 18th-century blast from the past!
