Speaking in public is hard enough as it is, but when it's in front of people you know, the bar is raised.  Don't fret, though!  Completely Yours Events has you covered on the do's and don't's of wedding toasts!

I have to give a toast at my best friend’s wedding…Help!

Short and sweet is the key!  Keep it simple, and speak from the heart.  Also, don’t bring up your friend’s past…meaning past hookups or embarrassing moments.  You may think the time when your friend fell down the stairs at your wedding after one too many drinks is hysterical, but a crowd of people may not understand the inside joke.  Your friend will also probably not appreciate the humor.  People often resort to humor or the past when they don’t know what to say, so if you have to write your toast down, please do!  No one will think anything of it!  If you try too hard to be funny or serious, it’ll show; instead, be yourself.  This advice can apply to any aspect of your life, as well!
