To Pet or Not to Pet?
Is it practical to have my adorable and beloved dog in my
wedding or will guests be secretly judging me for a childish decision?
Here at CYE, we can’t say no to a cute face. Personally, if the love of my life (my Papillion
named Bijou) is still alive on my wedding day, she will be attending of
course. But there are some things you
must keep in mind if you want your dog, cat, or even pig (yes, this has
happened) at your ceremony. There would
be nothing worse than your groom reciting his loving vows and then suddenly
being interrupted by your Chihuahua barking for his life at the squirrel
running up a nearby tree. So have an
honest conversation with yourself. If
there is even the slightest chance that Spot may suddenly try to sprint after
the flower girl, leave him at home. Your
wedding day will be stressful enough, and no one will criticize you for wanting
it to be as perfect as can be. People
love animals, though, so when your guests see your dad walking you down the
aisle with leash in hand, the awe-factor will be out of this world. Keep in mind that weddings aren’t as serious
these days. Of course the idea itself is
very serious, but young people are making their weddings memorable these days
with fun ideas. I’m sure many of you
have seen YouTube videos of the bridesmaids and groomsmen dancing down the
aisle. This shows that you can have fun
with it, and maybe when your Great Dane knocks down your 5 year old nephew, the
ring-bearer, people will roar with laughter.
The key to a great wedding is for it to be unique to you and your groom…if
it makes you happy, it will make everyone happy.
